I enjoy putting on Girl Talk and just letting it ride. The DJs and producers that put mash-ups together clearly have talent and know how to, if nothing else, match beats flawlessly. And I do buy that old art can be re-appropriated to create new art and that "fair use" is a legitimate legal concept. The novelties of mash-ups are not lost on me; they can easily feel too cute for comfort. Still, every time I hear a well-done mash-up, I can't help but smile. Hearing two or three tracks mixed together impeccably never fails to be satisfying. These are four of my favorite mash-ups of late.
(Full disclosure: both Hathbanger and Whole-Z attended to the high school I worked at last year. I don't know Hathbanger, he had graduated before I showed up. From what I can gather, he's a sometimes college student, sometimes skier out in Colorado. Whole-Z is now a college freshman in Vermont.)

Jay z bitter sweet is so off the hook, the hook was never considered to be in the same picture, absolutley genius
No doubt. "Bittersweet Symphony" seems overused as a mash-up track, but I'm never mad when it comes on...
Thanks for the comment!
