[Review] K'Naan and J. Period

Producer J. Period and Somali refugee rapper K'Naan collaborated recently on a terrific new FREE project titled The Messengers. The duo revisited the music of some of the artists who had large influences on their music and released three mixtapes with their covers and remixes of the works of Fela Kuti, Bob Marley and Bob Dylan. K'Naan's delivery and updates on the production create an interesting mix of new and old. It looks like they're calling it quits with these three greats, but here's to hoping they play around with some other influencers some day.
